Your children will only be this age once. So, why not capture them in a photographic memory that will last a lifetime!
My wife always said to me, "babies like you." I guess she's right. I have such a good time photographing these little characters and I think it shows in the photos.
The ideal way to capture your child's first year is with my "Watch Me Grow" program. For one fee, you get an entire year of your child's development captured. The program takes them from newborn to one year old. And if you're looking for baby shower gift, this is the perfect thing.
Many studios will often use elaborate sets and props when they photograph children and babies. I use very few and most times, hardly any at all. I find that the extra things just clutter the image and takes away from the photograph is really about - your child! If you wish to personalize the photo session with toys, stuffed animals or other special items, then by all means, bring those along.
I find one of the best ways to capture kids is to let them be themselves. Often, I like to photograph the children playing or just reacting to their parents or siblings. It makes for great candids that you'll cherish! I find that some of the best images are those where the child isn't smiling. Too often parents are encouraging their children off camera to smile. Just let them be themselves - those are the best photographs.
